WGS 2123 Intro Women's & Gender Studies: Find Articles

Types of Databases

The NSU Libraries offer access to many databases. Some are related to a few subjects, while others have a broader focus.

General databases provide information for many subject areas. Since their coverage is broad, they are considered multi-disciplinary sources of information. General databases are a great starting point for research, especially when you are working with a variety of topics. Some of the NSU Libraries' general databases include Academic Search Premier, JSTOR, ProQuest, and WorldCat.

Subject databases are designed to provide information for a particular subject area. For example, Humanities Full Text contains information related to the Humanities, but not Science or Engineering.

When searching for information, try using the general databases as well as those in your subject area.

The link below contains the complete listing of the NSU Libraries' databases:

Interlibrary Loan

Our NSU Interlibrary Loan service provides access to materials from other libraries or those not held in the NSU Libraries collections. ILL services are available to all students, faculty, and staff in the NSU community at no charge.

Interlibrary Loan requests can be submitted and tracked electronically on or off campus through your ILL account, providing secure access, convenience, and expedient processing and delivery.

To login and place an Interlibrary Loan request, use the account link below. If you are searching for items in our Discovery catalog interface, simply click the "Request via Interlibrary Loan" button to create a request.

Document Delivery

Document Delivery (DD) provides intra- and inter-campus delivery of circulating materials (books and other media) and articles held at either NSU library location. These are items owned by NSU Libraries. DD services are available to all students, faculty, and staff of the NSU community at no charge.

Item requests can be made through the NSU Discovery Catalog and can be delivered to the specified campus location. Look for the "Place Hold" button in the item record. Additionally, requests can be made on circulating items that are checked out. This will place a hold on the item. Users will be contacted via email when the requested items are ready. In Tahlequah, they can be picked up at the Interlibrary Loan desk at the south entrance. In Broken Arrow, they can be picked up at the second floor circulation desk.

All article requests are sent electronically.
