Remote Access to Library Resources - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to change anything with my browser to access library resources from off campus?

No. If you have a current active NSU account and you access library resources through the library pages by clicking on any database link, you will be prompted for your NSU userid and password. After entering you login information, click SUBMIT and you will be authenticated by our library EZproxy and access to the database will be granted. It's as simple as that!

2. Who is eligible to access electronic journals and databases?

Only faculty, staff, and students of NSU are authorized to access the subscription databases. The library catalog is free to everyone.

3. How do I setup my NSU account userid?

Visit the NSU Self-Service password manager to view your NSU UserID and set your password. If your password does not work or if you need further assistance, you can also call the Help Desk at (918) 444-5678 or email help@nsuok.edu

4. How do I connect to the NSU Library Databases?

You may view full-text items from searching via our home page or via our database index, which can be sorted A-Z or by subject.

5. I am not able to download the full-text of an online journal.

Check the Library's catalog to make sure we have a current online subscription to the journal. Some online journals are password-protected and may be accessed only on-campus. Please reach out to your respective library branch or subject librarian for more assistance. If NSU does not have access to the material, you can request the item via Interlibrary Loan (linked below).

6. Help! I am still having trouble. What do I do now?

If you are still experiencing issues, please contact us using the information in the link below or in the webpage footer. For assistance from the university IT department, you may call (918) 444-5678 or e-mail help@nsuok.edu.
