Non-Fiction: Provide historical context of topic, definitions, theories - Often written by scholars, specialists & professionals

Fiction: Provide entertainment and ideas

Find ebooks or print books via the Library Catalog or via the Internet.

Academic Journal

Contain current empirical research on specific scholarly topics, with detailed bibliographies - Authored by scholars, in highly technical language, peer-reviewed

Electronic Databases and indexes, such as EBSCOhost and Academic Search Premier.

(Print journals are located on the 2nd Floor of John Vaughan Library, Tahlequah)

Magazine Article

Provide current information on popular topics and news - Authored by a range of professionals from journalists to scholars - Intended for a general audience

Newspapers

Provide daily reports on news and opinions- May include quotes from officials and experts -Intended for general audiences - may include a local perspective on a story

Electronic Databases, such as Newspaper Source Plus or Newsbank, or via the Internet.

Government Publications

Publications on all topics are prepared by federal and state government agencies.

Library Catalog, or via the Internet on Websites such as USA.gov

Audiovisual

Provide any and all of the above types of information in a continuously increasing variety of multimedia formats such as documentaries, feature films, graphics, CDs, DVDs, and more.
