Learning Objectives

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Students conduct laboratory activities in chemical thermodynamics, perform hypothesis tests, and communicate experimental results in technical writing. This is a fundamental course in physical chemistry for students majoring in chemistry and related fields.


At the end of this library instruction:

  1. The student will be able to access relevant database resources and identify the differences between them in terms of access and content.
  2. The student will be able to tell the difference between a review article and a research article.
  3. The student will be able to identify practices that constitute plagiarism.
  4. The student will be able to correctly abbreviate journal titles for inclusion in ACS-style references.
