This library guide discusses online and print resources that are useful for researching the history and literature of music.

Library Databases

In addition to the above databases that provide comprehensive coverage of music history and literature, the NSU Library Catalog

Books and dissertations not owned by the NSU Library can be requested free of charge from other libraries by submitting a request to the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Department.

If a database that you are searching retrieves the citation but not the full text of a journal article that you wish to read, the item may be available in full text on a different library database. To find out if another database provides an article in full text, search the article title using the first box on the Discovery Articles Search page. You can access this search interface from the main library page by clicking the fifth tab from the left, "E-Journals by Title," then navigating to "Journal Collections" under the search bar, and finally, clicking the "Search" tab.
