About the Book Festival

On Friday, October 7, 2022, the NSU Libraries hosted the inaugural Green Country Children's Book Festival on the campus of Northeastern State University (NSU) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with over 700 students and 50 educators in attendance!

Our continued aim is for the Green Country Children's Book Festival to empower middle grade readers to reach their full intellectual potential by offering engaging interactions with diverse authors (and/or illustrators) and expanding a culture of learning, discovery, and empathy.

In 2023, the Green Country Children's Book Festival will feature six middle grade authors/illustrators. Please visit the "Meet the Authors" tab to learn more about these creative individuals!

  • Jaime Berry
  • Evan Griffith
  • Traci Sorell
  • MaryBeth Timothy
  • Charles Waters
  • Brian Young

This year, each educator who attends the event will receive a FREE Teacher Book Bundle, including one book by each of these authors/illustrators (a total of 6 books for your personal library)!

The Green Country Children's Book Festival will be hosted by the Northeastern State University Libraries and the Festival will be held in the NSU University Center on the Tahlequah campus.
