The primary mission of the Library is to support the educational, research, and outreach objectives of the University by:

  • Organizing and providing access to information resources, both on-site and through remote access, and
  • Promoting the necessary conditions for their effective use, organization, and maintenance.

Its secondary mission is to provide the same services to residents of the Eastern Oklahoma region.

Learning Objectives

  1. The student will be able to search the NSU Libraries website to find resources by title, author or illustrator name, subject keyword, and/or call number.  
  2. The student will be able to locate pre-service teacher resources from the NSU Libraries, including from Curriculum Materials and/or the Youth Collection.
  3. The student will be able to identify an Education database to select a scholarly research article.
  4. The student will be able to identify the education subject librarian at the John Vaughan Library.
