Congressional Research Service

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) is a "think tank" which works exclusively for the US Congress. It issues about 3,000 briefs, reports, short issue papers and longer position papers per year. The Congressional Research Service Reports are renowned for their non-partisanship and in-depth analysis making them very valuable research resources.

To preserve integrity, the reports are not made available to the public by CRS. However, members of Congress are allowed to give them out individually and some government agencies post reports on their Internet sites. From donated and public copies, search engines have been constructed to provide public access to many of the CRS Reports.
