Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)

Free Tax Preparation for Qualified Individuals

The Northeastern State University Broken Arrow Campus community (NSU students and staff) and members of its surrounding communities will have the option of obtaining free tax preparation through an NSU partnership with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

For individuals who qualify as having low-to-moderate income (income less than $57,000), certified, trained volunteers will be available by appointment to prepare basic tax returns on both the state and federal level. In addition, those who would like to file their own taxes online can access the necessary tax software for free. NSU's partnership with MyFreeTaxes provides easy, self-guided federal and state tax preparation for those with income of $57,000 or less. The tax filing software is provided by H&R Block at www.myfreetaxes.com for individuals who will be able to access their taxes and returns from anywhere there is internet access..
