NSU Library COVID-19 Resources: Learning From Home

Welcome to Online Learning!

The shift to completely online learning has taken many of us by surprise. It's an adjustment that you may not be prepared for. Here are some resources and suggestions to make the experience better.

Tips and Recommendations

  1. Carefully read the syllabus for each of your classes to see if any changes have been made.
  2. Reach out to your instructors with any questions or concerns as early as possible. Remember that they are likely having their own issues with this adjustment.
  3. If new tasks have been included, or tasks have changed to reflect the needs of a remote class, make sure you have the tools to perform the tasks. See the sidebars on the left and right for links to relevant NSU and community resources.
  4. Make sure that you are checking your NSU e-mail account regularly. Your instructors will send Blackboard announcements and other messages to that address, and NSU will also send important information there.
  5. Consider how to adjust your study schedules to accommodate learning from home.
  6. Try to create a space that you can dedicate to schoolwork or studying.
  7. Take breaks. Get help when you need it. Take care of your own needs as much as possible.
