About Reserves:

The John Vaughan Library supports the university curriculum by providing limited access to supplementary materials that have been designated by the faculty to assist in meeting their course objectives. The goal of the library reserve department is to provide a convenient and restricted environment for high use and on demand materials. The reserve department encourages faculty, staff and students to use the reserve services to enhance and broaden the scope of course curriculum through the use of provided complementary resources.

Location and Hours

The Reserve/Audio-Visuals area of the John Vaughan Library is located at the north end of the building, near the parking lot entrance.  A sign is posted above the desk to designate the area.  The Reserve area of the library on the Broken Arrow campus is behind the second floor circulation desk.  The reserve desks are open during regular library hours. All items need to be return 15 minutes before closing to assure proper check-in.

Loan Period and Overdue Fines

Access to reserve materials is more restricted than other library collections. Since ready and equal access to these material is critical, stiff fines are assessed for materials kept beyond the loan period. Loan periods can vary from 1 hour to 7 days. Reserve items have sensitive loan periods and overdue fines will immediately be charged to the patron's account. Fines for hourly reserves accrue at the rate of $.25 per hour, up to a maximum of $30.00. Reserve items may be renewed provided there is not a hold for another patron. Items are not to leave the library unless specified.

Scanning and Copying

Scanners are available on the first and second floors of the library in Tahlequah and on both floors of the library in Broken Arrow.  A copy machine is also available in each library. The copy machine costs $.10 per copy and makes both regular letter size or legal size copies.  Scanners are provided to students at no charge and they provide the student the option to either scan a document to their L  (or flash) drive or use the copy machine to make copies.
