Database Apps : ClinicalKey & First Consult



Our licenses now entitle all health professions students and faculty to access Clinical Key & First Consult and UpToDate whenever and wherever they need on their Smartphone or tablet using the mobile apps that are available for both Apple and Android devices.

To gain access to the mobile apps, you must first REGISTER FROM A COMPUTER ON THE NSU NETWORK, create a user name (use your NSU email address), and create your own password.


1. Register to use Clinical Key & First Consult

• Got to ClinicalKey & First Consult, then click on “Register” in the upper right hand corner of the screen to open the Registration Form.

• Complete the form being sure to use your NSU email address as your user name. Indicate you have read the “Registered User Agreement” and click “Register”.

2. Download the ClinicalKey App

Download the Clinical Key app. Open the App Store on your mobile device. Search for “Clinical Key” and install at no charge. Once in the app, two options will appear. Click on “Clinical Key”. Login with your Clinical Key username and password (the ones you created when you registered) and start using the Clinical Key App. You will be prompted once every 90 days to re-verify your affiliation with NSU by re-entering your Clinical Key username and password.

You can still access the Clinical Key & First Consult and UpToDate databases online from any computer with Internet access as long as you begin your search from your Library Resources page at:
