1998/1999 Annual Report Highlights
New Librarian hired and trained. Temporary replacements for Bindery Technician. Department experienced an 8% reduction in staffing due to these absences. (Data Initiation and Quality Control Teams)
Record numbers of materials acquired, cataloged, processed, bound and withdrawn. (All Teams)
First year of Blackwell approval plan. Over 1,000 titles acquired. (Acquisitions and Data Initiation)
OCLC TechPro outsourcing of 1,666 music score cataloging and labels. (All Teams)
New bindery contract with Heckman Bindery. LARS automated software used to manage bindery shipments. Highest number of material in ten years sent to the bindery. (Quality Control)
New procedures and location for the Curriculum Materials/Textbook weeding distribution area. Room 119 cleaned and workstation installed to speed the process. (Quality Control)
Networked CD-ROM tower installed to support efficiency in cataloging. (Coordination)
A Technical Services Intranet website was created at the end of the year. (Coordination)
