Rev. Kevin Stewart, president of the Muskogee Ministerial Alliance, from Muskogee Church of Christ, and Rev. David Stephenson, from United Methodist Church in Skiatook, will share their experiences of coordinating congregations and others to help evacuees who resided at Camp Gruber after hurricane Katrina.
After the speakers share their experiences, Mayor Purdy will facilitate a discussion of ideas for improving our preparedness for responding together as a community in times of crisis.
Refreshments will be served and a local choir will provide music.
This presentation is Diversity in CommUNITY’s Fifth Annual Community Forum as part of the annual Northeastern State University’s Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. recognition week.
